Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Temori is a private place to keep the moments of your life. It is operated by 9274-6296 Quebec Inc. ("Temori", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated under the laws of Quebec, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, where it is kept, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at temori.app, the Temori web app, and the Temori apps for iPhone and Android.

This policy is written with reference to Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

In short:

  • Your Moments are private. Nobody sees them unless you choose to share them.
  • We do not sell your information, show ads, or use your Moments to train AI models.
  • Your Moments, photos, videos and account are stored in Canada.
  • AI suggestions are off unless you turn them on.
  • You can export everything, and delete your account and its data, at any time.

1. Privacy Officer

We have appointed a person in charge of the protection of personal information. For any question or request about your personal information, contact:

Privacy Officer
9274-6296 Quebec Inc.
Email: privacy@temori.app

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email address they share with us. You can also set a display name, a language and a time zone.
  • Your Moments: what you write, the date, the labels you choose, favorites, whether a Moment is marked sensitive, and why it mattered if you say so.
  • People and places you tag. A place can include map coordinates if you add them.
  • Photos and videos you add to Moments. We store the files as you upload them, including information inside the file, such as when it was taken and, if your camera recorded it, where.
  • Reviews: the sentence you write for a week, a month or a year.
  • Messages you send us, for example to support@temori.app.
  • Waitlist: if you join the waitlist before launch, your email address and preferred language.

2.2 Information created as you use Temori

  • What Temori makes from your content: weekly, monthly and year-to-date reviews, monthly films, and smaller copies of your photos and videos for fast display.
  • Settings: notification days and times, whether AI suggestions are on, language and time zone.
  • Devices: for each phone where you use the app, a push notification token, the platform, the app version and when the app was last opened.
  • Plan: whether you are on the free plan or a paid plan, when it renews or ends, and the identifiers Apple, Google or Stripe give us for your purchase. We never see your full card number.
  • Connected apps: which AI assistants you connected, when, whether they may read Moments marked sensitive, and which Moments they saved for you.
  • Security information: your IP address, browser or device type, and sign-in times, used to keep your account secure.
  • Error reports from the apps and our servers. Moment text and media links are removed before a report is sent, and records are identified by number only.

2.3 What stays on your phone

  • Build your year so far: when you allow it, the app looks at the photos you select and at the titles and dates of your calendar events to suggest Moments. This happens on your phone. Only the suggestions you keep, and the photos you choose for them, are uploaded.
  • Voice: when you speak a Moment, your phone turns your voice into text. On phones that support on-device recognition, the audio never leaves the phone. On phones that do not, the phone's operating system sends the audio to Apple's or Google's speech service, under their privacy terms. Temori never receives or keeps the recording, only the text you choose to save.
  • Drafts: a Moment you are writing, and uploads waiting for a connection, are kept on your phone until they are saved.
  • App lock uses your phone's Face ID, fingerprint or passcode. We never receive biometric information.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Run Temori for you: store and show your Moments, assemble your reviews and films, send the notifications you asked for, and build the exports you request
  • Sign you in and keep your account secure
  • Manage your plan and process payments
  • Answer your messages and help when something goes wrong
  • Find and fix problems in the apps and the service
  • Understand how Temori is used, by counting things in our own database, for example how many Moments are saved each week. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools.
  • Tell you about important changes to Temori or to this policy, and, if you joined the waitlist, tell you when Temori is available

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not show ads or build advertising profiles. People at Temori do not look at your Moments, except when you ask us to help with a specific problem and allow it, or when the law requires it.

4. Consent

By creating an account, you consent to the collection and use of your information as this policy describes. Some features ask for your consent separately, at the moment you turn them on: AI suggestions, connected apps, notifications, and access to your photos, calendar, camera and microphone.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by turning a feature off in the app, changing your phone's permissions, deleting your account, or writing to our Privacy Officer. Withdrawing consent may stop the related feature from working.

5. AI Suggestions

Temori assembles your reviews with fixed rules, not with AI. You can also turn on AI suggestions with the Suggestions switch in Settings. They are off unless you turn them on.

When suggestions are on, after a review is assembled we send the text, dates and labels of the Moments from that period (up to 60 Moments, favorites first) to OpenAI, which drafts one suggested sentence. The suggestion appears beside your review, marked as a suggestion and linked to the Moments it is based on. It never replaces your own words. Photos, videos, people and places are not sent.

OpenAI processes this information in the United States. Under OpenAI's terms for its API, it does not use this information to train its models, and it may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it.

We never use your Moments to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. Turning suggestions off stops new requests immediately.

6. Connected Apps

You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to Temori from Settings on the web. When you approve a connection, that assistant can search and read your Moments, people, places and labels, and save new Moments you ask it to save. It cannot edit or delete anything, and it cannot open your photos or videos. Moments marked sensitive are included only if you allow it for that connection.

What a connected assistant reads leaves Temori and is handled by the company that provides the assistant, under its own terms and privacy policy, not this one. Moments it saves are marked with its name. You can disconnect an app at any time in Settings, and it loses access on its next request.

7. Service Providers

We use a small number of service providers. They process personal information only on our instructions and only to provide their service to us.

  • Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in. Canada.
  • Vercel: hosts the website and web app. Your requests, and the pages that show your Moments, pass through its servers, which may be in the United States. It does not store your Moments.
  • Railway: runs background work, such as making display copies of photos and videos, assembling reviews, rendering films and building exports. Its servers may be in the United States. Files are processed there temporarily and are not kept.
  • OpenAI: drafts AI suggestions, only if you turn them on. United States.
  • Resend: sends our emails, such as export links. United States.
  • Expo: delivers push notifications to your phone through Apple and Google. United States. Notifications announce that a review or a film is ready and never contain the text of a Moment.
  • Sentry: receives error reports, with Moment text and media links removed. United States.
  • Stripe: processes payments made on the web. United States.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscriptions bought in the App Store or Google Play. United States.
  • Apple and Google: sign-in, if you choose it, and in-app purchases, under their own privacy policies.

8. Where Your Information Is Stored

Your Moments, photos, videos, reviews and account data are stored in Canada, in Supabase's Canadian region.

Some of the providers listed above process information outside Quebec and Canada, mainly in the United States, to provide their service. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of the country where it is held, and authorities there may be able to access it. When personal information is communicated outside Quebec, we:

  • Use providers that commit by contract to protect the information they handle for us
  • Limit what they receive to what they need to provide their service
  • Assess each new provider before we start using it

9. When We Share Information

We share personal information only:

  • With the service providers listed above, to run Temori
  • When you choose to, for example when you share a Moment from the app or connect an AI assistant
  • When the law requires it, such as under a valid court order. Where the law allows, we will tell you first.
  • If Temori is sold or merged, with the new owner, who must continue to honour this policy. We will tell you before it happens.

Some pages link to other services, such as OpenStreetMap to view a place on a map. When you follow such a link, that service receives what the link contains, such as the place's coordinates.

10. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy:

  • Your account and content: as long as your account is open
  • A deleted Moment: the Moment, its photos and its videos are deleted immediately. There is no trash and no undo.
  • A deleted account: your Moments, files, reviews, settings and connections are deleted immediately
  • Backups: copies in our database provider's backups are removed as backups roll over, within 30 days
  • Exports: each export is kept for 7 days so you can download it from the Vault, then deleted. The link we email works for 24 hours.
  • Error reports: up to 90 days
  • Waitlist: until we tell you Temori is available, then deleted, or sooner if you ask
  • Payment records: kept by Stripe, Apple or Google as tax and financial laws require

11. Security

We protect your information with technical and organizational measures, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, provided by our hosting providers
  • Database rules that let each account reach only its own data
  • Private file storage, opened only through links that expire, most of them within an hour
  • Connected apps limited to a small set of actions, with no direct access to the database
  • Access to production systems limited to the people who run the service
  • Optional app lock with Face ID, fingerprint or passcode

Temori does not use end-to-end encryption yet. Our systems can therefore read your content in order to show it to you and to build your reviews, films and exports. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization.

12. Privacy Incidents

If a confidentiality incident involves your personal information, we will:

  • Act quickly to reduce the risk of harm
  • Notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if the incident presents a risk of serious harm
  • Notify you if the incident presents a risk of serious harm to you
  • Keep a register of incidents

13. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you. Most of it is in the app; ask us for anything else.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Get a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used format. Export everything gives you a zip with your Moments as JSON and Markdown, and your original photos and videos.
  • Delete Moments, or your whole account, in Settings
  • Withdraw your consent, as described in section 4
  • Know how your information is used and who it is communicated to

To exercise a right that the app does not cover, write to our Privacy Officer at privacy@temori.app. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond within 30 days.

14. Children

Temori is not intended for children. You must be at least 14 years old to use it. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to the use of your personal information, for example 15 or 16 in some European countries, you must have reached that age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from younger children. If you believe a child is using Temori, write to privacy@temori.app and we will delete the account.

Many parents keep Moments about their children. Those Moments belong to the parent's account and are protected like the rest of the parent's content.

15. Cookies and Local Storage

The website uses only what it needs to work:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in to the web app
  • A language cookie that remembers whether you read Temori in English or French
  • Your browser's local storage, to remember whether you prefer a light or dark appearance

We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy, for example when we add a feature or a service provider. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

17. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@temori.app.
